A little interview with Robin Rath, CEO Founder of Pixel Press

Hello there! Have you ever heard about Pixel Press? Maybe.. but if you were not in Mars in the past years, you must have seen the game "Adventure Time:  Game Wizard", where you can draw game levels using a pen and a sheet! Pixel Press is the tecnology that makes it be possible.

We are now repposting the interview we've done with Robin Rath, CEO Founder of Pixel Press. We hope you like it!Interview via e-mail in February 2015

GAME LOVER: Pixel Press project has gained notoriety in a Kickstarter campaign, but what happened before? What was the first inspiration?

Robin Rath: We grew up dreaming of one day creating our own video games, but too often that started on stopped with ideas we drew on paper. That dream was the inspiration for Pixel Press, and ultimately making video game creation accessible to anyone is behind everything we do.

Some people said it wouldn't work?

Sure, it seems magical when you first hear about it, but once you understand the details behind it, it makes sense and that's part of the cool thing as well - how has no one done this before?

We usually see pics of kids using Pixel Press/Floors, and that's nice. But does that mean that it's just for kids?

Capture with Floors, a Pixel Press app.
Certainly not, but in many cases it's about adults working with kids, or about adults building for kids, so we like to capture that excitement. As our tools expand both for creators and players, we'll broaden who we build experiences for specifically.

Is Pixel Press a new possibility for game producers or just an app done for ordinary users?

We're going to continue to focus on ordinary users as our end-target, but we are building tools for game producers to offer the same accessible creation tools within their own games.

Will be possible to make a game using Pixel Press, then upload it to app stores?

Possibly, but most likely through heavier developer tools that allow the Pixel Press creative technology to be added to new games. With that said, enabling every day users to generate revenue on games they create is part of the experience so I expect we'll get there.

What was your greatest joy so far?

Working with kids on almost a weekly basis, it's a lot fun and we're always amazed at how quickly they learn.

After Adventure Time game, what should we expect for Pixel Press Project?

We recently announced our next big thing, Bloxels - check it out at BloxelsBuilder.com!
